The Princethorpe Foundation

A shared ethos

The Princethorpe Foundation welcomes children of all faiths and backgrounds and provides
co-educational, independent day schooling with a strong Christian ethos for children aged two to eighteen years.

The Princethorpe Foundation welcomes children of all faiths and backgrounds and provides co-educational, independent day schooling with a strong Christian ethos.

We support and nurture some 1,300 children from age two to eighteen years, through Little Crackers Nursery, Crackley Hall School, Crescent School and Princethorpe College.

Princethorpe College and Crackley Hall School, are the only Catholic independent senior and junior school in the county. The Crescent School in Bilton, Rugby, joined the Foundation in September 2016.

Our schools are characterised by their strong Christian ethos and pride themselves on providing a caring, stimulating environment in which children’s individual needs can be met and their talents, confidence and self-esteem developed. We aim to encourage a lifelong love of learning and an understanding of moral values, and to put young people on the road to happy and fulfilled lives.

The College's annual Summer Fête and Motoring Festival was a delightful afternoon with plenty for families to see and do. So much hard work goes into organising the event and the College is hugely grateful to our dedicated PTA who do such an excellent job every year. The Orchard was transformed thanks to plenty of enthusiasm, gazebos and bunting and the British weather remained warm and dry after weeks of dark grey clouds and dismal rain, allowing organisers and visitors to relax and enjoy themselves. At the bottom of the Orchard there was line upon line of classic and unusual cars on show. Polished to perfection by loving owners, proud to show off their prized vehicles, Hillman Imps sat alongside Morris Minors, Maseratis and TVRs. An array of over 30 stalls offered all sorts of entertainment, goods and services, including homemade food, arts and crafts, gifts, fundraising activities, tombolas and so much more. And around the perimeter there was a whole lot of fun to be had whether you fancied the challenge of zorbing or the more traditional sport of archery. A monumental number of burgers and sausages were barbequed and jugs full of Pimms poured and the crowds were entertained by members of the College's Choir, Orchestra and Jazz Band. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and best of all, on the day, an outstanding £4,339.34 was raised which will benefit the learning of every pupil in the school. Huge thanks to all the organisers and visitors, see you again next year for more fun on Sunday 21 June 2020!

What a day! Yesterday Princethorpe pupils jumped at the chance to become super sleuths as they faced a detective-themed 'Who-Dun-It?' challenge for House Activities Day 2019! There was lots of fun and adventures to be enjoyed around school - here's just a snippet of some of the activities pupils took part in. Make sure you check out Friday's Flagpole for a full review of the day's adventures and to see which House triumphed overall! Well done to all who took part and a big shout out to all the staff and pupils who were involved in the organisation and coordination of today's event. #princethorpeandproud

Princethorpe is celebrating after bringing home a haul of seven medals from the Independent Schools Association's (ISA) National Track and Field Athletics Championships, the best performing school in the Midlands Region. The National Championships took place on Wednesday 19 June at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on a thankfully dry day. Princethorpe took a team of 17 athletes to the event; the pupils had all qualified for the Nationals at the Regional Championships earlier in the season. For all of the athletes this was an excellent opportunity to compete against some high calibre opposition. In total, there were 700 pupils from 151 independent schools competing at this pre-eminent event. Princethorpe's medal haul included three Gold Medals. Year 7 Kate finished first in the 1500m in a fantastic time of 5 minutes 30.82 seconds, Year 10 Molly took Gold in the 800m in a super time of 2 minutes 24.31 seconds and Year 9 Ben set a new national record in the 200m sprint in a supersonic time of 23.51 seconds. Claiming a Silver Medal were Year 7, Sage who ran the 70m Hurdles in a time of 13.39 seconds and five pupils who competed in the Midlands relay teams. Ollie ran for the Midlands in the Year 7 Boys 4 x 100m relay helping them finish in second place in a time of 55.36 seconds. Then four Princethorpe Year 9 Girls, Eve, Jess, Evie and Molly, represented the Midlands in the Year 8/9 4 x 100m relay claiming the Silver Medal in a stunning time of 53.55 seconds. Year 9, Ed took the medal tally to seven when he won a Bronze in the 80m Hurdles in a time of 13.18 seconds. He just missed out on a second medal with his jump of 1.50m which placed him 4th in the High Jump. Evie also finished 4th in the 75m Hurdles as did Mollie in the 100m sprint. Teacher Peter Bucknall, who accompanied the athletes to the Nationals, commented, "A huge well done to all of our athletes for an excellent performance. Our athletes responded so well to the competition they faced. Their tenacity, determination, good humour and genuine camaraderie made for a real feel good experience for the whole team, not just those who came home with medals."
