Pupils Plant Trees For Platinum Jubilee

16 Feb

On Monday 14 February, children from Crackley Hall School, with the help of Mr Robertson from the Grounds team at the Princethorpe Foundation, planted a tree on the school grounds adjacent to the playground.

Each class came down in turn to plant their tree including the Little Crackers Nursery children.

The crab apple, rowan and field maple saplings were purchased by the PTA as part of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations this year. There was much excitement amongst the children and staff, and even Mr Duigan couldn’t resist popping out to help Junior 2 with their planting. Every child also received a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee commemorative pin badge, and the classes will all now pin their trees on The Queen's Green Canopy map.

It's a fantastic initiative for the children to be a part of, and we will all enjoy watching the tiny trees grow.
