20 Sep

Following their inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate's (ISI) Regulatory Compliance team Crackley Hall School is delighted to report that it has passed the Inspection with full marks, with the school meeting all the requirements in every section.

An ISI Compliance Inspection is a detailed review of the school to ensure that it meets the standards required in terms of a wide range of important factors, including:

  • Quality of education provided
  • Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils
  • Welfare, health and safety of pupils
  • Suitability of staff, supply staff, and proprietors
  • Premises and accommodation
  • The provision of information
  • Handling complaints
  • Quality of leadership of and management of the school

The inspectors observed lessons and pupils’ work. They spoke with pupils, teachers, senior staff and the Chair of Trustees. They observed extra-curricular activity, attended assemblies and inspected the premises. In addition, they reviewed the responses of parents and pupils to pre-inspection questionnaires.

Amongst other comments, in their report, the inspectors highlighted, “The teaching enables pupils to make good progress”, “Principles and values are actively promoted which facilitate the personal development of pupils”, and “Leaders and managers demonstrate good skills and knowledge”.

At the end of the thorough two-day inspection at the end of last term the inspectors concluded, “The school meets the standards and no further action is required as a result of this inspection.”

Headmaster, Rob Duigan, commented, "I was particularly pleased with the informal feedback I received from the inspectors who were clearly impressed with our school. It is no small achievement to have passed this inspection so comprehensively, and I am delighted with the result. My thanks go to the outstanding staff here at Crackley Hall; all of whom have played their part in this successful inspection."

A copy of the report is available to read in full here and will be on the ISI’s website shortly.
