Crescent Crowned County Hockey Champions
On Friday 15 March Crescent School's U11 boys hockey team were crowned county champions.
Crescent have never finished in the coveted top two places of the County competition (the top two going on to play at the Regional Finals). So this year, on the back of their success at the IAPS Regional Final, the boys were determined to perform.
They headed off to Bilton Grange School on Friday 15 March fuelled with resolution and set on doing their best.
The boys opened with a 2-0 win against Crackley Hall and then defended well against Warwick School before scoring a short corner for a 1-0 win. Nerves then got to the boys as they drew with Bilton Grange and Solihull - teams that they had beaten previously this season. However, when the results were gathered in, Crescent founded themselves top of the table and crowned County Champions.
Head of PE, Matt Phillips said, "It was an excellent afternoon of hockey with great games and great competition from all the schools involved.”
The team now progress on to the Regional competition next week.
A fantastic achievement, congratulations boys!
